A Poem I Can Identify With

In the desert
I saw a creature, naked, bestial,
Who, squatting upon the ground,
Held his heart in his hands,
And ate of it.
I said, "Is it good, friend?"
"It is bitter – bitter", he answered,
"But I like it
Because it is bitter,
And because it is my heart."

A Great Ending

A cult classic and one of John Carpenter's first movies. The special effects are cheesy, but if you're able to ignore that or be really high than the movie is actually a very enjoyable watch. My favorite part is the ending but the only way one could truly understand my amazement is if you watched it in its entirety, then you can really "get it". Feeling optimistic all the while being surrounded by bleakness.

Fantasies

I have a strange fantasy of learning Spanish style guitar, especially this song, Fantasia by Alonso Mudarra. My dream is to one day play it for a lover outside their window with a single red rose in my mouth. Maybe one would find it too intense, however, a lover I would keep would find it deeply romantic.

La Planète Sauvage

One of my favorite animated films directed by René Laloux. This french animation is visually stimulating, as a child it was burned into my memory as being this weird and cool fantasy that I thought I made up. I was so delighted to rediscover it as an adult, and equally happy to know that it was not just some invented memory. So if you enjoy watching crazy tripped out french films, or are on a massive amount of hallucinogens than watch this film- ride the snake.

Here's an oldie. This is picture taken of me when I was 19 and super into industrial/goth music. I find it surprising how much happier I was in all my black attire.

The photo was taken by my good friend Marna.
